Troubleshooting: Can't log in to RoboKind Central and/or Companion App

Problem

You are unable to log in to RoboKind Central or the RoboKind Companion application

Tips

Note that passwords are case sensitive, and the passwords used by RoboKind Central (http://central.robokind.com ), RoboKind Companion 3 app, and http://companion.robokind.com are the same.

Note that password resets are limited to one per 10 minute period of time. Additional requests will not be processed.

Solution

  1. Please attempt a password reset at https://central.robokind.com/forgotPassword.

    1. If you do not receive the e-mail within 5 minutes, please see

  2. If receiving an “invalid token” error and it has not been more than 24 hours since the e-mail was received, try the following:

    1. Instead of clicking on the password reset link in your e-mail program, copy & paste the link into your web browser.

    2. If available, attempt logging in from a different web browser, or reset the browser cache for that page using Control-F5 for Windows Desktops, Control-FN-F5 on Windows laptops, or COMMAND-SHIFT-R on a Mac.

    3. Forward the received e-mail to another device, such as a personal cell phone to set your password.

  3. If the issue is happening on an iPad only but not in RoboKind Central (central.robokind.com):

    1. Check to ensure the version number in the lower right hand of the tablet reads 192 or later.

    2. Check to make sure the iPad’s network connection is not in low data mode. See the article https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210596 and make sure this setting is disabled.

    3. If the issue is happening even when the iPad is connected to a different network, the issue may be related to any restrictions applied to the iPad through any MDM software. Please work with your IT department to determine if there are any settings that can be adjusted to enable access.

  4. If still having issues, we need to determine if the issue is specific to your organizations content filtering or device management settings.

    1. The easiest way to do this is to test logging in to https://central.robokind.com using a personal device not connected to the same network, for example from a phone or home computer. (You can safely forward the password reset e-mail to a personal e-mail address since it does not contain an actual password).

    2. If this is successful, then the most likely cause of the issue is a white listing rule.
