Legacy to RoboKind Central - Post migration check list

Background

To continue servicing its customers, students, and partners with improved features and learning tools, we are actively migrating all customers from our legacy platform to our new RoboKind Central platform. This consists of a new web site (central.robokind.com), a new mobile app (RoboKind Companion), and new controller software for each robot.

Support for the legacy platform was discontinued on Jul 1, 2021.

Before using this process:

  • The customer pre-migration check list must be complete.

  • RoboKind will have completed the migration process, which migrates the roster, sends out welcome e-mails, and authorizes robots for the new software.

Post Migration Instructions

Web Site Tasks

Customer Administrator should log in to http://central.robokind.com and create any missing classrooms, managers, teachers, or aides. Please consult with your Robokind partnership manager if you have questions on how best to accomplish this. https://robokind.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CSSD/pages/1004568581
Customer administrators, managers, teachers, and aides that were created by RoboKind should watch for the migration welcome e-mail from RoboKind (e-mails received from support@robokind.com), and update their passwords for the new platform.

Important: Staff members will use the same e-mail address & password for both the central.robokind.com website and the RoboKind Companion app on iPads.

Customer administrators should review their account records in RK Central and disable any staff accounts which should not be active.

Robot Tasks

The following step cannot be completed in advance of notification from RoboKind that the migration is completed.

Tablet Tasks

At this point in the process, tablets used by teachers & students should already have the 3.2 version of the RoboKind Companion app installed. If this is not the case, please refer to the RK Central 3.x platform - Pre migration check list.
