Video summary of changes in RoboKind Companion:

Release Information

  • Fixed data capture for the post lesson Progress field

  • Behind the scenes logging improvements

  • The look of the pre-lesson start screen has been updated.

  • The pause button is now moved off of the right side bar menu and as a button at the bottom of the screen. Below the pause button is a progress bar that appears during lessons to give a visual indication of progress.

Like the previous “resume” button, pressing play after pausing will resume the lesson at the beginning of the block that was active at the time of the pause.

  • During a lesson, new speed controls have been added:

    • The default speed is about 80% of normal speech speed for students who might benefit from a slower pace. For many students, we recommend trying out the Typical or Fast speed settings, which will be saved and retained for that student in subsequent lessons.

  • Speed settings do persist at the student level, so if you finish a lesson with Student A at a speed of Fast, it will carry forward to subsequent lessons with that student until changed.

  • The post lesson screen has a new look & feel.

Question 1 of the post lesson survey will in the future be used to help calculate a students progress stars level for the selected lesson.

  • New! Note that on newer iPad’s, it may be possible to use the microphone button in the lower right hand corner of the screen to use voice to enter comments.

Additional changes from release 2022.007:

In RoboKind Central (http://central.robokind.com ) the generate reports button will now include additional fields, including Engagement, Progress, Pre-lesson mood, Post-lesson mood, Notes, and Accommodations.

When creating or editing a student, there is a new list of options available in the Identity field, with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the top of the list. If unable to provide this information, there is a “Not Specified” option at the end of the list.
