If you are not already migrated to RoboKind 3.x, please visit RK Central 3.0/3.2 Platform - Pre migration check list. If you are already migrated, then please see RoboKind Central 3.2 - Update Guide for instructions on connecting devices, without the need for QR codes.

Info

Conducting a RoboKind lesson with a robot requires pairing a tablet to the robot before starting the lesson. This article details the steps to connect or troubleshoot this connection as needed.

Attempt to connect to the robot by using the QR Code.

Info

If preferred, a customer can skip to the next section and manually enter the IP Address instead of using a QR code for pairing.

  1. On the robot’s control panel and main menu, choose Utilities - Connect Tablet to display the QR code.

  2. Within the RoboKind companion app, click on the QR code icon to turn on the camera, which you will point at Milo’s chest screen showing the QR code.

  3. If prompted with RoboKind Companion 3 would like to find and connect to devices on your local network., choose OK, and then scan the robots QR code again.

  4. The pairing should complete automatically. If not, please continue with the following section.

Determining robot’s IP Address:

If the robot is connected to both wifi and ethernet, disconnect the ethernet cable.

Ensure that the robot is connected to the network, and that it has an IP Address. How-to Show the IP Address of the Robot

If not, see RoboKind Quick Network Setup Guide

Make note of the robots IP Address, i.e. 10.0.0.107 as shown as the example here.

Alternate Connection Method:

If the robot IP address appears on the right hand side of the facilitator tablet, you can select it and click connect without needing to scan the QR code on the robot.

Alternately you can manually enter the IP address of the robot into the RoboKind Companion application, and click connect.
