To continue servicing its customers, students, and partners with improved features and learning tools, we are now migrating all customers from our legacy platform to our new RK Central 3.0 platform, which is now on release version 3.1.3. Our legacy platform will no longer be supported after .
Instructions
Customer pre-migration check list:
- Customers should use the appstore to install the “RoboKind Companion 3” app on all iPads used for facilitator and student lessons.
- Customers should work with their IT staff and/or managed IT services to ensure that firewall settings are up to date. https://central.robokind.com/assets/docs/it/NetworkSetupGuide_3_0_Jan2020.pdf
- Customer will confirm to RoboKind how many robots are in use.
- Customer will contact support@robokind.com to confirm that the pre-migration steps are completed. (The migration will require 1 business day after this notification is sent, during which time the platform will not be available).
RoboKind Migration tasks:
- RoboKind will authorize the 3.0 platform on customer assigned robots and deauthorize the legacy mode.
- RoboKind will use the migration tool to migrate customer students, staff, classroom, and robots to the new platform.
- RoboKind will disable user accounts on the RK Legacy platform. (Exceptions can be approved on customer request).
- RoboKind will initiate welcome e-mails to migrated staff members.
- RoboKind will notify customers when migration is complete.
Customer post-migration check list:
- Customer admins and staff members should watch for the migration welcome e-mail from RoboKind, and update their passwords.
Important: This new password will be required when logging into the iPad RK Central 3.0 app for the first time.
- Customer admins need to run the update process on each robot. (IMPORTANT: This process step cannot be completed prior to the migration date) How-to Update the Robot
- All customer users who will be involved with adding teachers, students, or running reports should bookmark the RK Central 3.0 page at https://central.robokind.com/, and remove bookmarks to portal.robokind.us.
- The first time a facilitator uses the RK Central 3.0 companion app on their iPad, they will need to log in using their e-mail address and their updated password.
- In advance of subsequent student sessions, teachers should verify that they can use the app to start a session with the appropriate student and robot.
