It may in some cases be helpful to broadcast RoboKind lessons from an iPad or computer screen to a larger display, such as a TV or Projector. This can be very helpful for group lessons.

Given the vast number of options and 3rd party products for broadcasting to a TV or projector, RoboKind cannot directly guarantee or provide support or assistance for these 3rd party products the product and solutions , which can vary significantly in their price, availability, and reliabilitydescribed in this article.

Caution that many of the solutions described below require an HDMI port on a TV or projector, which is not a given for older devices.

  • For our robots4Autism product, one easy solution to use a computer screen instead of an iPad is our Web Companion solution, see more information here: How-to Use the RoboKind Web Companion

  • Broadcasting from an iPad to a TV or projector: (Not directly supported by RoboKind)

    • There are dongles that can be plugged into an iPad to then broadcast to a TV or projector with an HDMI port - for example: Wireless Miracast Toneseas Streaming (The linked solution not tested or supported by RoboKind)

    • Many projectors also have HDMI ports so you could use a projector with one of the above options. HDMI Projector search on Amazon (The linked solutions not tested or supported by RoboKind)

  • Mirroring to an Apple TV or Air Play compatible TV:

    • Required hardware:

      • For TV’s that have HDMI ports but do not have Apple Airplay, you could purchase an Apple TV device, to which you could then wirelessly broadcast from the iPad. Apple TV (The linked solution not tested or supported by RoboKind)

      • A few newer TV’s support Apple Airplay-2 https://www.apple.com/airplay/ (The linked solution not tested or supported by RoboKind) which can be used to wirelessly broadcast from an iPad without additional hardware.

  • Broadcasting from Windows 10 to a TV or projector: (Not directly supported by RoboKind)

    • If you are teaching a lesson using Web Companion for robots4autism or from a web browser for robots4Stem, it may be possible to broadcast from your computer to a smart TV. There are many combinations of options for this and while some combinations of computers and TV’s are easy, this is not a given.
