Note

Weak passwords do not give any notice, except that no verification email will arrive.

Occasionally clicking the verify link in your email will show a page that it was an invalid link. This is a false error and can be ignored.

Note

When signing up ensure to only use lowercase for the email.

Lesson Set-Up

Web Browser: For a lesson, the teacher will need a device and each student will need a device. As a part of the pilot, it is highly recommended to use desktops/laptops/Chromebooks, but if it is not available access the app using a web browser on the tablet.

Teacher’s Directions and Preview of Student View: Lesson steps and directions will appear in the Teacher View. In addition, as the teacher, you can preview the Student View for each step.

Lesson Navigation Tools:

  • Thumbnails: (View what is coming next) In later versions hold the thumb to time hop in the lesson- does not work during the assessment)

  • Back and New Arrow Buttons: Move student’s view during the lesson.

  • Thumbnail Button: In future versions this will hide the thumbnails on the side to display a larger screen if preferred.

  • Join Code: The Join Code is conveniently displayed throughout the lesson, in case students need to reconnect or join late.

  • End Lesson: End the lesson when needed

Robot Button:

  • Our Virtual Avatar is not included yet because it is still being revised. We have made multiple revisions, but we have another one.

  • In later versions, tap the robot button to prompt updated Virtual Avatar Teaching Assistant.

  • In the lesson plan pdf, look for the robot head icon. When you see this icon, press the robot button to have the Virtual Avatar speak to the students.

Dance Break:

  • In later versions, tap the dance break to prompt updated Virtual Avatar to provide students with a brain break when needed.

Please Note: At the Supplemental Phonics for Teacher, we are only including one Virtual Avatar (Jemi), we will not provide a choice at this stage.

Lesson Tips Button:

  • Tap the Lesson Tips Button

  • This pop-up allows the teacher to tap to hear the pronunciation of the sound.

  • Tips about the pronunciation of the target sound are provided.

  • There is a scrollbar to expand and view additional information.

Class List Button:

  • Tap the Class List Button

  • You will see a pop-up of your class list

  • When student tap done on a mini-game during a lesson then it will show a checkmark next to their name.

  • In later versions, we will show if the students answered the questions correctly or incorrectly when students complete the assessment.

  • Recommendation: At the moment, lessons run best on a desktop/laptop web browser. If you experience trouble using a tablet switch to a desktop/laptop web browsed.

  • 1 Virtual Avatar Teaching Assistant (At the Supplemental Phonics for Teacher Level, we include only one Virtual Avatar) - This is not included in the pilot

  • Teacher surveys do not save responses yet.

  • Lesson data does get saved - Reports however reports on RK Central are not functional

  • Log Out button has an error. (Workaround is to refresh the browser page)

  • Various Features are not included in this version but will be added later.

  • The minutes on the Student Page RoboKind Central are not functional.

  • Cannot edit main user profile
