Background
To continue servicing its customers, students, and partners with improved features and learning tools, we are actively migrating all customers from our legacy platform to our new RK Central 3.0 platform, which is now on release version 3.1.3. This release consists of a new web site (central.robokind.com), a new mobile app (RoboKind Companion 3), and new 3.0 controller software for each robot.

Instructions
Customer pre-migration check list:
- On each iPad used by facilitators and students, customers should use the Apple App Store®to install or update the RoboKind Companion 3 app.
- On each iPad, uninstall old copies of RoboKind Companion app that do not have the white “3.0” banner.
- Customers should work with their IT staff and/or managed IT services to ensure that firewall settings are up to date. https://central.robokind.com/assets/docs/it/NetworkSetupGuide_3_0_Jan2020.pdf(replace with specific how-to article on service desk)
- Customer will send RoboKind a list of robot serial numbers that will be moved over to the 3.0 platform.
- Customer will contact support@robokind.com to confirm that the pre-migration steps are completed. The RoboKind migration tasks will take approximately 1 business day to complete, during which time the platform will not be available for roster management or lessons.
RoboKind Migration tasks:
- RoboKind will map the legacy customer account structure to one account per contracted customer for the 3.0 platform.
- RoboKind will use the migration tool to migrate customer students, staff, classroom, and robots to the new platform.
- RoboKind will authorize the 3.0 platform on customer assigned robots.
- RoboKind will disable user accounts on the RK Legacy platform.
Robokind will migrate account data to central.robokind.com, authorize robots for the 3.0 software, disable the old web portal, and send welcome e-mails to migrated staff
membersaccounts.
Customer post-migration check list:
- Customer admins and staff members should watch for the migration welcome e-mail from RoboKind, and update their passwords.

- Customer admins need to run the update process on each robot. (IMPORTANT: This process step cannot be completed prior to the migration date) How-to Update the Robot
- Bookmark the RK Central 3.0 page at https://central.robokind.com/, and remove bookmarks to portal.robokind.us.
- Teachers/Facilitators will need to log in to each tablet (both student and facilitator tablets) and update software. The curriculum update will download taking about 5 - 20 minutes.
- For the student iPad, the facilitator will need to log out of the application so that it can be used in student mode.
- In advance of upcoming student sessions, teachers/facilitators should verify that they can use the app to start a session with the designated iPad tablet and the robot.
